The wonders of Istanbul.Top left - St Saviour of Chora which houses one of the world's most precious collections of Byzantine mosaics and frescos (see below)was built between 1316 and 1321. Top right - Ayasofya Camii by night- I can still hear the call to prayer drifting across the city. Bottom left and right - interiors of the Rustem Pasha Mosque and the Blue Mosque.
Byzantine Chapel-frescos which were not destroyed when the building was converted into a mosque in 1511.

Lights of all description and not an energy saving bulb in sight!Surrounded by children from a local school who as part of their extra curriculum activities came to improve their English by talking to tourists - they were absolutely delightful. Istabul Modern well worth a visit and the comic in the back of this classic car was probably worth as much as the car!
